here goes something...

i'm not at all sure if this is going to work. i just wanted to add another post to my old blogspot thing, and it makes me create a whole new one. i guess we'll see what happens.
goodness me, i've forgotten what i wanted to write.
maybe i'll update myself on the ongoings of the last few days...

so i woke up bright and early yesterday morning, missed the train and got to work just in time after a rivetting hour or so on the train. was transferred to luke's desk and computer for the day, and i stole one of his fruit tingles. christine, the new girl, and i had a really unsettling conversation which left me wondering what to do... very complicated, won't go into it. i left at 12:30 to go to uni for just one lecture which was ok, coz it meant my day wasn't too long even though i probably ended up spending more time in transit than actually at uni, but what can you do. the lecture was really boring anyway. had to borrow a friend's book and photocopy about 20 pages of homework because the stupid bookshop doesn't have the one prescribed text for advanced german. frustrates me to no end, i tell you! anyway, we're on the way to the uni bar and who should call me but my boss, informing me that i am one of 16 people to be retrenched, putting me in a decidedly bitter and upset mood. i don't even have one last hoorah, which is why i'm at home today instead of there. good thing i was on the way to the bar for a stiff drink. although my old boss from the restaurant where i used to waitress called me soon after and offered me a temporary job, which is at least some sort of consulation. serving ice cream at the easter show may not be as glamorous as online administration support for an advertising company, but it's good enough for me!

anyway, mal called me while i was on the way home so we met up and went back to my place for a bit before going out. i had a shower, we went to mal's place, she had a shower, and we plodded along to the RSL for cheap drinks. in the meantime janey called, which was good coz i was going to call her that night anyway. she sounded so happy to hear that we had plans for her birthday (which is today). poor girl. turns 18 today, in a month she's getting married, and 6 weeks after that her baby is due. a lot for one person to take. as her maid of honour i feel i should be taking a more active part in all of us, but with work and uni it's hard. or should i say just uni...

on with my evening. we arrived at the RSL to meet amzzz, julien, luke, nick and ian. we were the last there, probably because we were a little late. we ordered drinks, sat down, decided to go squander our life savings at the pokies and came back 80 cents out of pocket. i talked to nick for a little while, he was understandably feeling a bit off after he downed his 14th drink. he rushed off to the bathrooms and wasn't seen for another 2 and a half hours. luke and ian checked on him every 15 minutes or so, just to check he was still alive. apparently he was throwing up nearly the whole time. once he stopped, we put him in a taxi and sent him home. mal and julien left early, leaving amzzz, ian, luke and myself. amzzz and i decided to leave before trains stopped running and we'd have to catch a bus. then we decided we felt like maccas. actually amzzz did, but it wasn't a bad idea. so we walked to maccas from the station and then back to her house. i slept in her bed, she ever so graciously slept on the floor. we were awoken the next morning by her aunty calling. it was an exciting conversation to listen to, i can assure you.

and i came home. my story really wasn't exciting at all. i think i'm now going to do some work or finish writing one of the many songs i started and then never finished.
hope this blog thing finds it's way to wherever it's supposed to be.
